Description

In the years leading up to the 1989 celebration of the Snoqualmie United Methodist Church’s Centennial, a committee headed by David S. Battey met monthly. The goal was to gather as much information as possible about this church’s history and publish it in a book, the original intent to have it ready for the centennial. However, the task was complicated and often frustrating, seeking out obscure records, learning that important information had been lost – or never recorded, and then putting it all into readable form. Many others contributed vital information and material, but Dave spent countless hours completing this book that not only tells the history of the church but includes an overview of the development of Methodism. The book also includes copies of important historic records including transcripts of early Snoqualmie baptismal and marriage records. Originally published in 2012 in a 90 copy run, the first printing immediately sold out, after countless requests for a second printing the book is now republished by the Snoqualmie Valley Museum.

8-1/2″x11″ 150 pages, black and white photographs, paperback.
